Phaseolus vulgaris

The Zolfino bean (also called Zolfini, and Fagiolo del Cento because it was sown on April 11th, which is the hundredth day of the year). Historically grown in the Arezzo province of Italy under olive trees, it was once almost completely extinct. "Zolfo" means sulfur in Italian, and these beans have a light-yellow hue. Thin and very fine skin is said to melt in your mouth. Plants love poor, dry soil and don't do well with too much moisture... perhaps perfect for that spot where nothing else will grow!
