Solanum lycopersicum
The Red Fig Tomato is an historic American pear-shaped tomato that was traditionally dried as a substitute for figs, preserved in sugar, or made into a sweet jam. Yum! Dates back to the 18th century.
Good resistance to late blight, but like most pear-shaped tomatoes, uneven watering can cause cracking on the neck, though Red Fig is more resistant to cracking than most. Heavy producer of 1.5-2 inch sugary-sweet fruits.
