If you search the internet for 'Red Calico Lima Bean', it will invariably direct you to the Christmas Lima Bean, which is also an excellent lima, but not the same one. The Red Calico is more of a vibrant magenta color, with dark maroon markings. Indescribably beautiful!

This is an old variety that has been around for hundreds of years, but remains extremely rare. A prolific setter of pods containing 2-3 beans, which are delicious either fresh or dried.
