Daucus carota

Minimum seed count: 400

Also known as Parisian Market Carrot, this French heirloom is known for its squat, round shape, about 2 inches in diameter.  Not only is it incredibly cute, but it can be grown in harder, heavier soils where other carrots struggle.  Also great for growing in containers.  Deep orange color and good flavor.  Harvest young for the sweetest carrots.  As with all carrots, soil must be kept moist in order to have good germination.  If the soil dries out to a crust right when they're about to pop up, they might not pop up at all!
