An heirloom winter squash from the Pacific Northwest, maintained by an Oregon family for over 100 years.  Vigorous growth and productivity even in cool weather.  The slate-grey fruit average about 12-15 pounds, and can be stored for up to seven months in good conditions.
Sweet Meat is known for its sweet, deep orange flesh that gets even sweeter with storage.  Best harvested after the first light frost.  Makes a superb pumpkin pie!
