This is the beet for you if you like nice even slices, because these beets are more cylindrical shaped than round.  Perfect if your goal is a beautiful jar of pickled beets!  Cylindra is a sweet and tender heirloom beet; in fact it's often called 'Butter Slicer'.  The greens also tend to be sweeter than other varieties.  Originally from Denmark, this beet is also easy to peel, has virtually no rings, and can be planted closer together thanks to its narrow shape.  It can grow up to 8" long, but of course that depends a lot on soil health and climate.
