This yellow snap bean with dark brown seeds is best known for its mushroom-like umami flavor when cooked.  In 1952, Nellie Chernoff received the original seeds from a Russian woman, and she then grew the beans for 30 years at her home in Saskatchewan, until passing them on to her granddaughter in 1988.  
 
Best picked at about 5 inches.  Prolific, vigorous vines.
